Notion AI — review

An honest review of Notion AI for teams that already run projects, docs, meeting notes, or wikis in Notion.

Notion AI is strongest when your business already lives in Notion. If your SOPs, meeting notes, projects, and internal wiki are scattered elsewhere, the AI has less context to work with.

The verdict

For existing Notion teams, AI can turn the workspace into a better search, summary, and drafting layer. For everyone else, it is not the tool to adopt first. Move your operations into Notion only if the workspace itself solves a real problem.

What it is great at

  • Summarizing long pages and meeting notes.
  • Drafting project updates from workspace context.
  • Turning rough notes into docs, checklists, and tables.
  • Searching internal knowledge when pages are well organized.

What it is only okay at

  • Customer-facing marketing copy.
  • Workspaces with messy permissions or duplicate pages.
  • Teams that will not maintain their documentation.

Pricing note

Notion’s current pricing page lists Free, Plus, Business, and Enterprise plans, with Business shown at US$20 per member per month on monthly billing. AI features and trials vary by plan, so check the live plan comparison before deciding.

Bottom line

Notion AI is a strong add-on to an organized Notion workspace. It is a weak reason to adopt Notion by itself.
